One possible next step, after the basic description, is to investigate the

relationships between elements, and between constructs, in the grid. These

may not be immediately obvious to your interviewee, but are usually

recognisable, on reflection, when you have pointed them out. The sense of

ownership is still there. Four techniques will be outlined, the first two

requiring less computation than the last two:

. simple relationships between elements

. simple relationships between constructs

. cluster analysis

. principal component analysis.

These are dealt with in the next chapter.
